The ideology of the painter Wassily Kandinsky, as demonstrated in his work entitled "Composition VIII" was transformed into a design concept for a student sculpture garden on the campus of Pasadena City College. The concepts of the line, the angle, and the curve, along with Kandinsky's use of the "Square of Tensions" overlapped in the garden design to conceptually create a space where "the infinite cycle of growth within each student" could be realized.
